Options Filters Select any of the options you're interested in narrowing down on the search results. If you leave it set to "any" all possibilities will be displayed. For example, if you leave all options set to "any" a full database report will be displayed. Selecting an option limits the search results only to those catches matching your specifications. Only fish will be displayed unless you turn the "Show Items" checkbox on.
Should be self explanatory - each report description shows what will be displayed. Use the Day/Moon Calendar * to determine when your next optimal fishing window will be! A Selbina-Mhaura Ferry Schedule * and Guild Hours of Operation Schedule * is also included. See Notes section below about clock accuracy. NEW! - Airship Schedule * added! You can now see when the next Airship you want is going to dock so you can plan that quick Jeuno AH shopping trip. Moon Phases * New and full moon phases (90%-100%-95%) are purported to be the best times to fish. Current moon phase is displayed here. Used in conjunction with the Day/Moon Calendar report, you can determine when you want to fish. See Notes section below about clock accuracy. Results Catches Column - This column shows you the catch name. Rank Column - This column shows you the fish rank and points per fish, and max points for turning in that fish type each real world day. Value Column - This should be self explanatory. Some fish, like moat carp, are worth more when put to a different use - like selling at the Auction House. This column only shows NPC and Guild pricing (which fluctuates slightly due to certain factors). Flags Column - This column shows you the flags for that catch, which are defined in the report header. Skill Value - This value is the recommended skill for catching a particular fish. It is always possible to catch a fish much higher than your level, but it is usually not practical to try to do so. Usually the recommendation is 15 points less than the skill cap for a particular catch. If you want to find all fish available in a certain area (if you use an area filter, for example), do NOT specify a skill value. If you do specify a skill value, know that you may catch a fish that doesn't show up in the results because it's a fish you won't be able to catch on a consistent basis. Cap Value - This value represents the highest skill at which you can still gain skill points. For example, if the cap is 50 and your skill is 50, you'll stop getting skill-ups by catching this particular fish. Notes Monsters - If you select an area filter, then any monsters you might fish up in that area will show up in the results. Nothing like having a level 35 monster bite your level 10 Tarutaru fisherman in the behind! Fishing Gear - If you are doing searches based upon skill, then select a skill value that is your real skill + the additional benefit of any fishing gear you are using. Rod Break - Overstrikes All Calendar / Timer Reports & Functions * - These features require JavaScript to be enabled in your browser. The time calculations are based upon your own system clock settings. This enables us to provide you with countdowns and times for your time zone. It is important that your system clock be precisely correct and your time zone correctly specified. Assuming that your system clock is correct, then the times and calculations displayed in Vana'diel time will be correct as well. If you would like to synchronize your system clock with an atomic clock on the Internet, then try this software: TARDIS Browser Back Button - If you use your browsers' "back" button in between queries you can potentially disable java for that page. So... don't use it. Updates and Corrections - If you discover any information that conflicts with what is displayed in this database, please let me know by using the Feedback / Information link at the top of this page. Please visit www.lisaarndt.com or www.titanictus.com for great discussions and information on fishing in FFXI! If you're new to fishing I really suggest starting at the Fishing FAQ. * Vana'diel time calculations based on code developed by Pyogenes @ http://www.pyogenes.com/timer.html. | ||
